ESO - Messier 87 galaxy!

Messier 87, a giant elliptical galaxy in the Virgo Cluster, as seen from the ESO's Very Large Telescope in Chile. New measurements show that Messier 87 is significantly smaller than previously thought. The black spots are bright foreground stars that have been removed from the image. BBC
